Landmarks Commission Information
The City of Madison’s historic preservation program works to protect buildings, sites, and districts with architectural and cultural significance while integrating preservation into broader planning and development efforts. The Landmarks Commission oversees changes to designated properties, requiring review and approval for exterior work. Overall, the program aims to balance growth with maintaining the city’s historic character and community identity.
