Volunteer
Volunteering with the Madison Trust is a great way to support historic preservation in our community!
Our volunteers represent community commitment to historic preservation and are essential to the Madison Trust’s success. Share your time and talents while making new friends along the way! We have volunteer opportunities suited for everyone's unique interests and skills. Whatever your skills, we have a place for you to help!
Ongoing volunteer opportunities:
Advocacy: Help ensure that the Madison Trust’s voice is heard in regards to preservation issues in the community.
Communications & Community Engagement Committee: Help plan strategies for increasing public awareness of the Madison Trust and efforts to protect and promote Madison’s historic neighborhoods and buildings.
Development: Assist in growing fundraising and sponsorship opportunities through various strategies.
Events: Work with a fun group of people planning events and tours such as our Historic Preservation Awards and our annual Member Appreciation Event.
Tour docents: Discover or deepen your knowledge of the fascinating architectural history of Madison by leading small groups through Madison’s historic neighborhoods. Docents can participate through our summer walking tours, bike tours and special events. (Docents are required to go through training before providing tours)
Board members: We look forward to talking with energetic, qualified individuals who would like to be part of our vibrant board of trustees.
All of these efforts are overseen by committees, our board, and the program manager. Please consider joining us in advocating for and supporting historic preservation in the Madison area.
